Daisy Tibbot The Chocolate Maker

Daisy started working at Laesers who were an established Chocolate maker in Middlesbrough and then after serving her time she was poached (no egg pun intended) by Meredith's to work on their new venture into chocolate - they previously did sweets and other confections. So as she probably started working at 13 and she looks as though she is in her 20's in the picture it might be a picture after she had joined Meredith's celebrating the new venture and her making Chocolate eggs. In later life she reminisced about enjoying her work as a Chocolate Maker / Decorator. Her older sister Lilian also was a Chocolate Maker.
As mentioned Daisy was the reason I got hooked on family research and it was found she was born in Elan Village (A shanty town set up in Elan Valley) as her Grandmother ran a boarding house for workers on the Dam Project serving water to Birmingham. Elan Village is still there today but only some of the more permanent buildings like the School House remain of the original buildings. Well worth a visit to the area!
