What the above demonstrates is the family moving around Whitby and the move to the Manor House in 1900 a pivotal moment. Prior to that they lived in small houses in numerous yards. If a house was 3 bedroom considering there were often 9 or 10 of them and rooms would have been small it highlights the cramped living they would have accepted as normal.
